How To Install Sims 4 Script Mods
I downloaded Some script mods, but they don't really work. I downloaded the royalty mod, the professor mod, the road to fame mod. They all show up in the CC/ Mods list but the only one that really came through was the professor mod and that doesn't really do what i thought it would either. I guess I didn't download them correctly but when I looked it up on youtube they did exactly what I did. Please help. Thx.CM Edit: Please don't discuss or promote mods that are against the Answers HQ Guidelines. Thanks.
Hi Im having the same problem!.Recently i deleted all my cc and mods and reinstalled it because it was making my game slow and i couldn't place specific objects on build mode. So i got new cc and it worked. But when i got the same mods again they were not showing up in my game. It would show up on my main menu as script mods. I tried to enable the script mods. I try to disabling it and then re enabling it. I tried reinstalling. I tried making a new world. Also just now I tried starting up the game and it wouldnt let me!I would be very glad if someone can help me
@itsmaayyaa It could be that some of those .script mods are obsolete. Obsolete mods can definitely cause problems with your game and even ruin game saves. We'll have to deal with those later as first we need to get your game running again without any mods or CC.
Before re-adding any of your mods, please check the mod creators' websites to see if there are any updated versions or at least a verification that the older mods are still compatible with the latest game patch. Follow any special instructions they provide on how to install their mods. I use Mod Trackers like the one at Simsonic Sims 4 to check the statuses of all the mods I use in my game.
This tutorial will show you how to install the required tools, extract EA python scripts, edit custom python scripts, and compile them to share as a mod. You will be using a free program called PyCharm to edit the python files. Please note, this tutorial assumes some familiarity with python and is not meant as a substitute for lessons/tutorials in python coding. It will show the Sims 4-specific steps of making a script mod. This tutorial requires your game to at minimum be patched with the 11/13/2018 game patch.
3. Now that you have modified the example script, it is time to get it into the game. You should have a file called compile.py in your Example Mod folder. Running this python file will compile all of the .py files in your Scripts sub-folder into a .ts4script and copy it into your mods folder. It will be called [Your Creator Name]_[The folder name of your mod].ts4script. Right-click the compile.py and select "Run 'compile'". You should now have a script file in your mods folder. In my case, it is called andrew_Example Mod.ts4script.
4. Start your game and make sure that script mods are enabled. Create a new game or load a save game. Once in Live mode, press ctrl+shift+c to open the cheat console. Type the word "myfirstscript" (without quotes) and press enter. You should see the text that you entered in step 3.
Click the Download Button on the bottom of the Mod Description. A Simfileshare Site will open. Click on Download (The Blue Download Button unter the File name on Top). Open the downloaded Zip File with Winzip, Winrar or similiar and drag & drop the *.package File into your Sims 4 Mods Folder (Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods). If a Mod has Optional Addons, install them the same Way if you want them.
The best news is that mods aren't as complicated as you may expect and they are completely free to download and use. However, despite the fact that mods are relatively easy to install, the process is more complex than when you are dealing with custom content, which adds create-a-sim or build and buy objects. They are also more likely to cause issues in your game and require more frequent updates.
In this guide, we take a look at where to find mods, what they can do, and how to download and install them. We also look at how to minimize any negative impact on your game experience, especially after patches are released. In short, here's everything you need to know about modding The Sims 4.

Making sure you correctly install your mods and keep them up to date is vital so we've updated this guide to ensure the information is clear, easy to follow and will help you have a great experience with mods. 2ff7e9595c
